All the pinning in the world could not deliver the visually stunning inspiration that the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year awards do.

As the awards website says itself they “seek to single out not only technical skill, but originality of treatment and a real sense of connection with the subject matter whatever it may be. Whether simply an apple on a plate, a cake of spun sugar, a baker covered in flour at four in the morning, or a pot simmering on an open fire in the African bush.”
And this is what we love.
For all the trends in terms of ingredients, props, light and styling circling around us at any one time, a stunning picture transcends this. It’s healthy for the creative soul to stop and appreciate this, casting aside any commercial bias.
