Draw dropping deliciousness, eatability, lickability and good old fashioned drool factor doesn’t just happen. Food styling and photography is an art… along with a whole lot of planning, preparation, prop sourcing and passion. Oh, and did I mention aching backs and bruised knees? But it’s all so worth it… we love it, and our clients love the results.
And because I always want to see what’s really going on behind the camera, I thought I’d share a little behind-the-scenes from one of our recent shoots. So, here’s a look at what we’ve been up to recently for Fonterra Foodservices.
Our team of prop stylists, food stylists, photographers, art directors and chefs came together last month to create a recipe collection along with food styling and photography for Fonterra Foodservices, targeted at the pub & club market.
We’ll share the finished pics soon, but in the meantime, here’s a little glimpse backstage.
Rule 1: Always have enough props and product on hand. It’s all about preparation people!
Rule 2: It’s a long day on your feet… sensible footwear is a must!
Rule 3: Make your list, check it once, check it twice… well, you get the idea.
Rule 4: Trust us, those yoga classes really do pay off!
The rest: Then it’s cook, style, tweezer, spray, prop, drip, drop, dollop, light and shoot. Rinse and repeat!
Stay tuned to check out some of the finished images… our post production team are working away on them as we speak.
